NEBOSH HSE Introduction to Incident Investigation
NEBOSH and Great Britain’s Health and Safety Regulator, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), have jointly developed a new one day qualification that shows how non-complex incidents can be investigated effectively.
By learning lessons and making improvements, organizations can avoid similar incidents occurring in the future.

This qualification is for anyone who wants to carry out incident investigations effectively.

– The qualification will take you through the four steps to a good incident investigation. This includes providing you with the skills required to identify the immediate, underlying and root causes of incidents.
– Witness interviewing is a valuable skill for an incident investigator. The qualification, therefore, introduces you to the PEACE model for interviewing.
– Once you have gained an understanding of the PEACE process you will be able to apply this to three incident interviews as part of your final assessment.
– The knowledge, understanding and skills that you will gain from this qualification will also allow you to contribute to team investigations of larger-scale incidents.

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification, but’ it is recommended that learners should already have an underpinning knowledge of health and safety issues, and many will have gained another NEBOSH qualification.
It is also important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.
NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

– The process for investigating incidents
– Positive interview strategies and the barriers to successful interviews

Assessment
Application of knowledge by analysis of a theoretical incident investigation
Assessment registration
Learners must be registered before they can take an assessment. All assessment registrations must be completed by HSE.AZ LLC.
Assessment dates
All assessments are held on a date chosen by HSE.AZ LLC. You should contact with us for more information.
Assessment results
You will receive your results within 24 working days of sitting the assessments. Once you have achieved a pass a qualification parchment will be issued. This is normally within 40 working days of the confirmation of the successful unit.

Assessment Time: Approximately 60 minutes
