    NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (International) will involve a minimum of 68 taught hours and approximately 40 hours of private study and background reading to prepare for the 48 hour open book examination.

    Assessment

    This is a digital assessment based on a realistic scenario, that will test both what you know and what you can do. You will be asked to carry out a series of tasks using evidence from the scenario and the underpinning knowledge gained through your studies and revision. You will have 48 hours to download, complete and submit your assessment.

    Your assessment will be marked by an external examiner appointed by NEBOSH.

    Entry Requirements

    There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

    It is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

    Important note: NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (International) is a standalone qualification. This means that you will not be able to use units from other NEBOSH qualifications against any part of this qualification.

     

    Examination dates

    CI1 – For the CI1 digital assessment learners will have 48 hours to access, complete and submit their paper starting at 11am (UK time) on the examination date.

    Once your Learning Partner has registered you to an examination, NEBOSH will send you a Confirmation of Registration email that includes your learner number, and important information relating to your examination. Please ensure that you check your name is spelt correctly and let your Learning Partner and NEBOSH know if any changes are required.     Following receipt of your Confirmation of Registration email, NEBOSH will send you a further email containing your Username and Password for the NEBOSH online examination platform. If you have not received this email please remember to check your spam folders.

    If you have previously sat an online examination with NEBOSH, you will not receive new a new login. You will be able to access the online examination platform using your previous login details.

    Examination results

    All results for assessments taken in English should be received within 50 working days from the date of the examination. The specific date is written on your examination entry confirmation.

    Assessment / Examination

    The assessments focus on the application of knowledge to help you prepare for the health and safety tasks faced in the workplace. Assessment method is online.

    Assessment Format

    The qualification units are assessed in the following way:

     DI1 – Know – workplace health and safety principles An assignment split over two papers (both papers must be submitted at the same sitting):
    Paper 1 – simulation questions
    Paper 2 – workplace activities, reflective tasks, and a research project
     DI2 – Do – controlling workplace health issues  Scenario-based case study (simulation only)
     DI3 – Do – controlling workplace safety issues  Scenario-based case study (simulation only)

    Each assessment is a substantial undertaking. We anticipate that it will take you around 40 hours to complete the DI1 assignment and 20 hours each for the DI2 and DI3 case studies. The time-period given for you to complete each assessment reflects this:

    Unit DI1: 4 weeks (20 working days)
    Unit DI2: 2 weeks (10 working days)
    Unit DI3: 2 weeks (10 working days)

    Assessment Dates

    The following dates have been confirmed for diploma assessment sittings. Assessments are available from 12pm (midday) UK time on the release date, and the submission deadline is 12pm UK time on the submission date shown:

    Assessment Registration

    Only Diploma learners who have enrolled with NEBOSH through an accredited Learning Partner are eligible to register for Diploma assessments. You must be enrolled before the deadline of the assessment you wish to register for.

    Assessment Results

    You will receive your results 50 working days after the submission date for your assessment. A unit certificate will be issued 20 working days after the notification date for each successful unit.

    Once you have passed all three unit assessments (DI1/DI2/DI3) your combined percentage mark will give your overall grade for the qualification (Distinction/Credit/Pass).

    • Distinction 226 or higher
    • Credit 196 – 225
    • Pass 150 – 195

    A qualification parchment will be issued 20 working days after the results notification date for the third successful unit.

    NEBOSH has collaborated with Great Britain’s Health and Safety Regulator, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), to develop the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management.

    This process safety management qualification is the result of the unique collaboration which combines the advanced technical ‘high hazard’ expertise of HSE with NEBOSH’s ability to deliver strong vocational OSH qualifications.

    This qualification is designed to equip delegates with a broad understanding of the accepted principles and recognised industrial practices for the management of process risk. This will ensure that they can recognise and contribute to the control of process safety hazards.

    Who is it for?

    People from all around the world who work in process industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, plastics and pharmaceuticals. Ideal for managers, safety representatives and health and safety advisors working within the process industries, both inside and outside the UK. It is not designed for chemical and process safety engineers experienced in the specification, design and maintenance of process plant.  It is recommended that learners should already have an underpinning knowledge of health and safety issues, and many will have gained another NEBOSH qualification (such as: Health and safety at work, International General Certificate)

    Content of the qualification

    The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Process Safety Management is designed to cover a range of issues affecting process industries.

    Key topics covered by this qualification include:

    • Establishment of process management systems
    • Asset management and maintenance strategies

    Assessment / examination

    Examination registration

    Learners must be registered before they can take an examination. All examination registrations must be completed by an accredited learning partner.

    Examination entry confirmation

    Once your learning partner has registered you to an examination, they will send you an Examination Entry Confirmation that includes your learner number, and important information relating to your examination and results process. Please ensure that you check your name is spelt correctly and report this to your learning partner and NEBOSH if any changes are required.

    The Examination Entry Confirmation is essential to gain entry to the examination room, you will need to show a form of photographic identification to the invigilator and then sign the Examination Entry Confirmation. Please contact your learning partner if you have not received your Examination Entry Confirmation.

    Examination dates

    PSM1 – multiple-choice question assessment.

    This assessment is now be completed online, see Multiple Choice Question Assessments page for more information and available assessment dates.

    Examination Results

    You will receive your results within 15 working days of sitting the examination. Once you have achieved a pass a qualification parchment will be issued. This is normally within 20 working days of the confirmation of the successful unit.

    Duration of the course

    The NEBOSH PSM course covers a total of 48 hours of teaching. 28 hours are taught by the course provider, and 20 hours are prepared by the student as “self-study”. This includes 4 days of teaching during a classroom and live online based course. As e-learning, we provide you with the opportunity to use the course for 12 months.

    Entry requirement

    There are no mandatory requirements to attend the NEBOSH PSM course. However, NEBOSH recommends that students attending this course have some basic knowledge of HSE. It can also be any foundation NEBOSH course (eg Health and Safety at Work, International General Certificate). In addition, since the course material and the exam are in English, it is recommended that students participating in the course have a certain level of English language proficiency. NEBOSH recommends a minimum IELTS score of 6 or higher.

    Note: This does not mean that you have to take the IELTS certificate. NEBOSH provides this as an example to compare the level.

    NEBOSH IGC – International General Certificate (e-learning)

    The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health qualification is now available to you at HSE.AZ in e-learning format.

    General information about the course:

    The NEBOSH IGC is one of the most preferred qualifications globally in occupational safety and health. This qualification provides certain advantages for both the employer and the employee (eg: having competent staff, increasing career opportunities, better health and safety management, better risk control, etc.)

    Level of qualification:

    At the international level, NEBOSH IGC is a level-3 qualification in the NQF (National Qualification Framework).

    Requirements for participation:

    There is no specific requirement to attend in the NEBOSH IGC course. However, NEBOSH recommends an English language proficiency level of IELTS 6 to better grasp the course material and be successful in the exams. In addition, it is recommended that you attend any lower level health and safety courses to ensure you have the minimum knowledge before applying for this qualification. For example: IOSH “Managing safely”, NEBOSH “Health and safety at work”. These are recommendations, not requirements.

    Sections of the course:

    The course consists of two sections – IG1 and IG2.

    • IG1 occupational health and safety management – this includes 4 elements: 1) Why should health and safety be managed in the workplace. 2) Health and safety management system. 3) Risk management. 4) Health and safety monitoring and performance measurement
    • IG2 Controlling risks in the workplace – it includes 7 elements: 1) Physical and psychological health. 2) Musculoskeletal health. 3) Chemical and biological substances. 4) General workplace issues. 5) Work equipment. 6) Fire. 7) Electricity

     

    Qualification assessment:

    The assessment on IG1 is of the “Open Book Exam” type. So, on the day of the exam, you will log into your account on the online platform and download the exam questions. Based on the scenario mentioned there, you will be presented with certain questions. You will write answers to those questions and submit them to NEBOSH in your account on the online platform within 24 hours.

    The assessment on IG2 is performed on the basis of a practical assignment. So you will carry out a risk assessment in your workplace based on NEBOSH requirements and send it to your course provider. If you are not currently working, this is not a problem. We will explain to you in what area you can write a risk assessment.

    The passing score for IG1 is 45 points on a 100-point system. Passing on IG2 is assessed by the “refer / pass” system.

     

    What is e-learning?

    This is a system where the course is presented to you through an online platform. You can access your account in LMS (Learning Management System) and start the course, stop the course, and continue it at any time by typing login/password at any time according to your work and schedule. In the e-learning method, you are not in direct contact with the tutors. The course is presented to you in an interactive format. If you have any questions, you can contact the tutors (via message / e-mail).

    In the e-learning system, you can see how effectively your educational process continues. A variety of test-based questions are introduced throughout the course elements, allowing you to test your knowledge of the sections you have completed.

    You can also download, print and read the course material.

    In addition, several mock exams are posted here for your preparation for the exam. You will download these exam papers and send them to the tutor after writing the answers. He will check your exam answers in a short period of time and get back to you with feedback.

    In our e-learning platform, you can also discuss the course with other students studying the same course in the forum section.

    Duration of the course:

    In the e-learning method, we provide you with 12 months access to the system. You can complete the course and take part in the exams within 12 months. E-learning is open 24/7 and you can access your profile and continue your studies anywhere there is an internet connection.

    Tutor support:

    During e-learning, you can communicate with designated tutors via messaging. They will answer your questions in the shortest possible time. Tutors will also tell you how to succeed in the exams with certain instructions embedded in the system. Tutor support is available until the exam day. On the exam day, no tutor will answer your questions. Make sure you can contact tutors in a timely manner. Otherwise, they may not answer you if it is close to the exam time.

    The NEBOSH International General Certificate is based on international standards and best practice. It is made up of two units that must be successfully completed within five years to achieve the NEBOSH International General Certificate qualification:

    Introduction

    The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Managing Stress at Work qualification will give learners the knowledge to be able to recognise the causes and effects of stress; identify the risks within their workplace; and apply suitable interventions to prevent and reduce stress.

    It is suited to anyone responsible for managing and reducing work-related stress within their organisation, such as line managers, Human Resource employees and health and safety professionals.

    Assessment

    The qualification has one unit assessment: a multiple choice assessment. Learners will be presented with a realistic workplace scenario, and asked 20 multiple choice questions about the scenario based on the course learning outcomes (see ‘Syllabus’). The aim of this assessment is for learners to practically apply their knowledge and understanding gained from your studies of the MSW syllabus. It is an open-book assessment, so learners are able to refer to their course book or notes during the assessment. Learners must achieve a ‘pass’ (60% or higher) to be awarded the qualification.

    Assessment date

    The assessment will normally take place at the end of the day’s training (if taught in one day). If your learners are studying by distance or eLearning, they should have access to the assessment once they have completed all course content. Learners will have one hour to complete
    the assessment.

    Results

    We aim to issue results within 24 working days of the date of the assessment. However, results may be issued after the deadline dependent on any moderation undertaken.

    Entry Requirements

    There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

    It is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

    Course contents:

    This course is consist of 3 elements:

    Element 1: Why manage health and safety risks

    Element 2: Managing risk / Identifying and understanding the risks. Managing risk / Controlling the risks

    Element 3: Managing risk: Sources of information and the application of HSE risk assessment tools

     

    Learning outcomes:

    – The reasons for managing health and safety risks including competence of those involved and

    the importance of consultation with relevant workers.

    – Effectively manage risk, which will involve identification and understanding of risk potential and its control.

    – Where to find sources of information to help identify and manage risk, and the application of

    the HSE risk assessment tools.

    Assessment

    A practical assessment is completed at the end of this one-day qualification. You will be asked to watch a video of a real workplace and complete a risk assessment to identify how you would manage and priorities the risks present.

    Assessment registration

    All assessment registrations must be completed by HSE.AZ LLC

    Assessment dates

    All assessments are held on a date chosen by HSE.AZ LLC. You should contact with us for more information.

    Assessment results

    You will receive your results within 24 working days of sitting the assessments. Once you have achieved a pass a qualification parchment will be issued. This is normally within 40 working days of the confirmation of the successful unit.

    Assessment Type: Practical assessment

    Assessment Time: Approximately 1 hour

     

    Length of course

    This one-day qualification has a minimum of six hours study with a recommendation of one hour for the assessment, which means it can be completed in just one day.

    Method of assessment

    This assessment is designed to test your ability to put into practice what you have learnt and, as it is carried out in the workplace, can add instant value to your organization.

    The assessment must be carried out in your own workplace. Where you do not have access to a

    workplace, as NEBOSH Gold Learning Partner we will help make arrangements for you to carry out the assessment at a suitable premises.

     

    The stages of the practical assessment are as follows:

    1. Information
    2. Management and processes
    3. Issues and actions

    We will clearly explain and consult what are you required to complete all 3 sections correctly.

     

    Date of assessment

    Your assessment should be carried out after you have completed studying the HSA course. Your Learning Partner will tell you the date that they need to receive your assessment. If you fail to submit your assessment to your Learning Partner by the date requested, you will be marked as ‘absent’

    Once you have achieved a pass, a qualification parchment will be issued within 20 working days of the confirmation of the successful unit.

     

    Resubmitting the assessment

    You can resubmit your assessment if you received a ‘Refer’ result. There is no limit on the number of times you can resubmit, however, you must register and pay the associated registration fee on each occasion.

     

    Assessment Type: Practical assessment

    Assessment Time: 3 hours (approx.)

    Pass mark: 75%

     

    Before the course we will clearly explain how assessment will be carried out and what should you do to achieve pass result along with copy of practical papers.

     

    Length of course

    This qualification has a minimum of 18 taught hours (3 days), two hours of self-study and a recommendation of three hours for the assessment.
