Ətraf mühit üzrə aparıcı mütəxəssis / Leading environmental specialist

SOCAR HQ is looking for a leading environmental specialist.

Main job responsibilities:
✅ Coordinate and oversee implementation of the Corporate Environmental Management System (EMS) in alignment with ISO 14001 requirements across all SOCAR assets;
✅ Support development, integration, and monitoring of corporate GHG reduction targets and decarbonization initiatives across the company;
✅ Provide technical guidance to asset environmental teams to support identification, assessment, and management of environmental risks;
✅ Lead the integration and operation of SOCAR’s corporate environmental reporting system;
✅ Coordinate the collection, verification, and analysis of environmental performance data, including GHG emissions across SOCAR operations;
✅ Ensure alignment of corporate GHG management with international standards and IPCC Guidelines, as well as OGMP and OGDC commitments;
✅ Plan and conduct corporate environmental audits to assess compliance with internal standards, legal obligations, and ISO 14001 requirements;
✅ Lead corporate-level environmental risk assessments and ensure integration of risk controls into planning and operational decision-making processes;
✅ Develop, track, and monitor key environmental performance indicators, ensuring their dissemination and consistent implementation across SOCAR assets.

Main qualifications:
✅ Master’s degree in Environmental sciences, Process safety, Chemical engineering, or other relevant fields;
✅ Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in environmental management, preferably within the oil and gas industry;
✅ Experience in implementing and coordinating EMS in line with ISO 14001 requirements. Preferable experience in GHG emissions management, environmental reporting, and environmental audits;
✅ GHG emissions management principles, inventory methodologies, and reduction strategies;
✅ Well informed about waste and wastewater treatment processes, waste management practices;
✅ Basic knowledge in environmental aspects of upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas operations;
✅ Ability to conduct ISO 14001 environmental audits and manage corrective and preventive actions;
✅ Effective communication and coordination skills;
✅ Fluency in Azerbaijani and English;
✅ ISO 14001 Internal Auditor (or equivalent EMS auditing) or other certifications are desirable.
